This page offers the best negotiation advice on the www. Especially with it being a new model,  Dealers may try to gouge prices on Escapes and Tributes, so check out the site.

I wish I had news to report on the status of the Escape Recall.  Darce was told last Friday that parts for her Escape were ordered.  As of yesterday, they have not arrived at the dealership.  There's nothing worse than having your brand new Escape stuck on a dealer lot.

I'm slack.  I've had a lot going on at work, then I went on vacation (with the RENTAL CAR FROM HELL, a 2000 Dodge Neon), and I'm going to be adding some different sort of stuff to the page in the next few weeks or so.   The Escape Registry has been added,   I'm also going to be adding a "Car Buying" advice section.  With the Escape being a new model, Dealers are not going to want to negotiate much on the prices, but hopefully this will enlighten you to some of the tricks they pull.

I am aware that some of you are having trouble downloading the Escape Owner's manual.  I'm leaning towards this being a Tripod problem, but I'm still working on a resolution.  Sorry for the inconvienence.

Fixed some broken links, and replaced teh Ford Escape Link with the newer one, not that shockwave page.  Also I added a Mini SUV comparison chart from Cars Direct.com.  You can compare any 4 kinds of vehicles at a time.  Pretty neat.

Sorry for the lack of updates.    I added a new image page called Miscellaneous and added photos of the Escape Die Cast model, and the Escape price list that includes MSRP and Invoice  prices.

Fixed some broken things and added some neat downloads like the Dealer order pdf file that's been floating around and the Mazda Tribute pdf brochure.  Be sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view them.

One thing I have decided to add, when the Escape is finally available to the public, is a Registry.  I'm still working on the dynamic of this, but you will be able to view info on other Escapes and their owners.  SInce Tripod upped the disk space quota, you'll be able to add photos of your Escape as well!

Color Schemes have been added to the Image Gallery - also touched up the logo a little.  All hail Paint Shop Pro!    I also finally added submitted  links to the links page (I didn't realize you had to log into the htmlgear site to approve them), so there's several new ones there.  Feel free to add more!

This site finally has a name- Escape Central!  I must admit the response to this page has been overwhelming - thus I've had to put up the obligatory disclaimer.   I'm not a Ford Rep, I just fell in love with the Escape when I saw photos of it from the 2001 North American Auto show on Carpoint earlier this year.   Feedback on the site however, is always welcome!    I hope to be adding more features to the site as I have time.

Quicknews is a new feature of Escape Central, it will be brief information and announcements on the Escape/Tripbute.  I will try to update it daily.

The new Escape forum at Ezboard and  Club Escape, an email mailing list have been created.  I've created a few forums to start with, and will add more as needed.  If you would like to email me with future forum suggestions, you can do so here.
